Create

  1. Open @BotFather and send /newbot;
  2. Follow the prompts for a display name and a username ending in bot;
  3. Save the API token you receive.

Basic setup

  • /setcommands to define the menu, such as start and help;
  • /setdescription for the intro users see first;
  • /setuserpic for the avatar;
  • /setprivacy to control group message access.

Make it reply

With the token, call getUpdates to receive messages and sendMessage to answer. Without a server, host the webhook on a cloud function.
