Versus cloud chats

  • Secret chats are end-to-end encrypted and never stored in the cloud, only on the two devices;
  • A self-destruct timer can delete messages after they are read;
  • Forwarding is blocked and screenshots may be restricted;
  • They are one-to-one only — no groups or channels.

How to start

  1. Open the profile, tap More → Start Secret Chat;
  2. Once the contact is online the encrypted session is created; compare the key pattern to verify;
  3. Set a self-destruct timer at the top of the chat.

Note

Secret chat history cannot be restored after uninstalling or switching devices — save anything important first.
