The portable edition is an official archive you unzip and run: no registry entries, ideal for office PCs where installing is not allowed.

How to use

  1. Download the portable archive and extract it anywhere (a USB stick works);
  2. Run Telegram.exe and sign in;
  3. Data lives in the tdata folder inside the program directory — back it up to migrate.

Cautions

  • Do not put it in write-protected system folders such as Program Files;
  • Delete the whole folder after using a public computer;
  • It is feature-identical to the installer and updates itself.
